ASUR : Welcome to your Dark Side

"Asur: Welcome to your Dark Side" is a crime thriller web series created by Gaurav Shukla and directed by Oni Sen. The series was released on Voot Select in March 2020 and stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Anupriya Goenka, and Ridhi Dogra in the lead roles.

The story revolves around two forensic officers, Dhananjay Rajpoot (played by Arshad Warsi) and Nikhil Nair (played by Barun Sobti), who are called upon to solve a series of gruesome murders that are taking place in the city of Varanasi. The murders have a strange pattern, and the killer seems to be sending a message through the killings.

As the investigation progresses, the two officers realize that the murders are connected to a long-forgotten mythological story from Hindu mythology, where a demon king named Asur was defeated by the gods. The killer seems to be inspired by this story and is trying to exact revenge on those he deems responsible for his family's downfall.

Dhananjay and Nikhil must race against time to catch the killer before he strikes again, but their personal lives and inner demons threaten to get in the way of their investigation. Dhananjay is haunted by a past case where he failed to catch the killer, and Nikhil is dealing with the aftermath of a divorce and the custody battle for his son.

As the two officers delve deeper into the case, they realize that the killer is not who they thought he was and that there is more to the story than meets the eye. They must use all their forensic skills and their knowledge of mythology to catch the killer before it's too late.

The series is a gripping tale of crime, mythology, and human emotions, and it keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats till the very end. It received critical acclaim for its storytelling, performances, and cinematography and has been renewed for a second season.
