Season 2 of The Family Man begins with Srikant Tiwari no longer working for the NIA and instead employed as a corporate employee in a cybersecurity firm in Chennai. He is struggling to adjust to his new life as a regular office-goer and also dealing with issues in his personal life, including his troubled marriage with his wife Suchitra (Priyamani). Meanwhile, the NIA is working on a case related to a new terrorist group called the "Tamil rebels," which is planning a major attack in India.

Srikant's former colleague, JK (Sharib Hashmi), who is still with the NIA, reaches out to Srikant for help in cracking the case. Srikant agrees to help, and he and JK begin investigating the Tamil rebels' activities. The investigation leads them to a high-profile politician named Kareem Bhagat (Samantha Akkineni), who is believed to be the mastermind behind the Tamil rebels' operations.

Srikant and JK's investigation also brings them to the attention of Raji (Samantha Akkineni), a Sri Lankan Tamil soldier who was recruited by the Tamil rebels to carry out the attack in India. Raji is a skilled fighter and is tasked with leading the attack on a chemical plant in Chennai. However, she begins to have second thoughts about the mission when she learns of the impact it will have on innocent lives.

As the investigation progresses, Srikant's personal life also takes a turn for the worse, with his wife being involved in an affair with her colleague. Srikant struggles to balance his work and personal life, but eventually decides to focus on stopping the Tamil rebels' attack. He and JK manage to track down the location of the chemical plant and plan to stop the attack. However, they are too late, and the Tamil rebels manage to carry out the attack, killing hundreds of people.

In the aftermath of the attack, Srikant realizes that his work is not over and that there are still people out there who need to be stopped. He decides to leave his corporate job and rejoin the NIA to continue fighting against terrorism.

The season ends with a cliffhanger, as it is revealed that Kareem Bhagat, the mastermind behind the Tamil rebels, is still alive and has escaped arrest. The scene also hints at a potential third season, which is yet to be announced.

Overall, The Family Man Season 2 delves deeper into the complexities of Srikant's character while also providing a thrilling storyline with a timely message about the consequences of terrorism.
